Orthodontics (Traditional Braces)
Orthodontics is defined as the science of repositioning teeth. Traditional orthodontics, or braces, have been used for years to effectively correct dental issues ranging from overcrowding to misaligned bites. Although many people associate braces with children, we use braces on patients of all ages to improve appearance, hygiene, and function of teeth.
Invisalign (Clear Braces)
Many of our adult patients prefer less-conspicuous orthodontia with Invisalign clear braces. If Dr. Farruggia finds that you are a candidate for Invisalign clear braces, he or she will take digital images and impressions and design a plan to incrementally re-position your teeth. The Invisalign laboratory creates a series of aligners based on those impressions, and you'll wear them daily until you progress to the next aligner in the series. Adults love the freedom to remove their aligners for eating, brushing, and flossing, and treatment time is typically shorter, too.
